In der sieben Stationen umfassenden Installation META SELFIE werden Besucher dazu angeregt, ihr Selbstbild vor dem Kontext kultureller Prägung zu prüfen, um sich schließlich über ein mit einer Polaroidkamera gemachtes Selbstporträt zu positionieren. Die intellektuelle Reise geht von den Aktivitäten des Sehens und Erkennens hin zum Verschwinden der traditionellen (Bilder-) Welt im Digitalen. Der Inspiration dienen traditionell gehängte Fotografien sowie Zitate berühmter Persönlichkeiten, die Einsichten vermitteln oder zur Identifikation einladen. Die Besucher nehmen unter den Fotografien zur Verfügung gestellte Texte an sich und machen in einem Nebenraum ein Selfie mit einer Polaroidkamera, das sie zusammen mit dem gewählten Postkartentext (oder einem eigenen Text) an die Wand hängen. Über ihre META SELFIES zeigen sie sich vor dem ideellen Hintergrund ihrer Eindrücke, Einsichten und Haltungen im realen Raum der Ausstellung.
In the seven-station installation META SELFIE, visitors are encouraged to examine their self-image against the context of cultural conditioning, in order to finally position themselves via a self-portrait taken with a Polaroid camera. The intellectual journey moves from the actions of seeing and recognizing to the vanishing of the traditional (image) world in the digital. Inspiration is provided by traditionally displayed photographs and quotations of famous persons, which convey insights or invite to identification. The visitors take the texts supplied below the photographs and take a selfie with a Polaroid camera in an adjacent room, which they attach to the wall along with the chosen postcard text (or their own text). Through their META SELFIES, they present themselves against the ideal background of their own impressions, insights and positions in the concrete exhibition space.
